20071225 Christmas Day 2007 - with Linda & Dave J. : Yes, I had a good Christmas. (How could I not have, bein' underwater on Maui 'n' all?) On a more serious note, these pix are a testament to why I *really* need an U/W DSLR. (Focus, focus, FOCUS!) Well, Santa didn't bring it, so we'll see what the new year has in store... :-)

2 dives with Linda, Terry, and Linda 20070925 : Cool stuff today! Some of the really cool stuff was way shallow. Pair of huge frogfish; Linda's "pet" octopus; and a honkin' big moray were some of the highlights. Check out the "little stuff," too; very cool inverts. New (for me) nudibranch; don't think I've ever seen Chromodoris albopustulosa before!

dive with Richard 20070825 : Once again, I recognize that these are not great photos, but I'm posting them just as documentation of the dive (and yet another project to help me learn the names of the organisms). It was very murky on this dive, so--since flash would have been pretty horrible because of inevitable backscatter--I was experimenting with no-flash photography (which I rarely otherwise do underwater).

2007 08 11 night dive with Richard C : These are far from the best photos I've ever taken, but I'm posting them purely for the purpose of "remembering the occasion." I've posted a more complete list of critters we saw on this dive. While getting gear together, I saw two "shooting stars," too (from the Perseid meteor shower; very cool!) The happy dive ended back at the truck with with hot chocolate, hot showers, cookies, and pretzels.
